Ten Minutes with StrataVision 3D Making a Tile, Page 5 of 5 |

This is the final version. I've cropped it to get rid of the white background that was around it. Now it's ready to be resized for use in the game. For a more dramatic effect, we could have applied colored lighting to the tile. We could also create 3D bones or rusted weapons to decorate the image. However, this first attempt was intended to take ten minutes, and it certainly looks good enough to play on. It's worth noting that this was rendered using "phong with shadows" mode. The image would have looked better "raytraced," but raytracing won't work on a sculpted object that's built from a bitmap. In the future, we can take a look at how to build stonework from tools that the raytrace renderer does like... but it will take more than ten minutes. That's all for now.
